Dick Fong is one of the charter members of the American Chinese Pharmaceutical Association (ACPA). He was elected as its first President and also served as its first Executive Secretary. Dick is a firm believer that ACPA can help bridge North America and Southeast Asia in the practice of pharmacy and pharmaceutical technology exchange. Because of ACPA's effort, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan have sent delegates to ASHP and AAPS meetings during the last several years. He has also been instrumental in helping clinical pharmacists and pharmacy professors and pharmaceutical scientists go to Southeast Asia to give lectures and serve as consultants. Dick believes that ACPA is well prepared and is ready for the next century, and new members are much needed to serve this fast growing pharmaceutical organization.
