Gary C. Yee, Pharm.D., FCCP

Dr. Gary Yee is Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, College of Pharmacy, University of Florida. He received his B.S. in Pharmacy at the University of Wahington and his Pharm.D. degree at the Phillidelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He then completed a two year residency and fellowship at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. After completion of his fellowship, he spent seven years as a member of the Program in Clinical Pharmacology in the Division of Clinical Research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, WA. During his tenure there, Dr. Yee established a laboratory-based research program focused on the use of drugs in bone marrow transplantation. Since 1988, he has been at the University of Florida, where he is continuing his clinical practice and research in oncology and transplantation.

Dr. Yee recently completed a one-year sabbatical at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania in Philidelphia, PA. During his sabbatical, Dr. Yee took coursework at the Wharton School of Business and learned about the changes in health care (e.g. managed care) and how to conduct economic analyses of drugs and technology. Dr. Yee's areas of expertise include cancer, cancer chemotherapy, cyclosporine, biotechnology drugs, and most recently pharmacoeconomics. He has published over 100 research articles, reviews, or book chapters and is one of the editors of the textbook Pharmacotherapy: A Pathophysiological Approach. He serves on the editorial boards of several journals and newsletters, is one of the Scientific Editors of the journal Pharmacotherapy, and is a member of advisory boards for consultant to several pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies. Dr. Yee has given more than 100 continuing education and research presentations at local, regional, national, and international meetings.
