ACPA Structure and Bylaws

As stated in the ACPA Bylaws, the Association is governed by an Executive Committee including all elected officers: President, President-Elect, Immediate-past President, Treasurer, and Secretary as voting members, and appointed officials: Executive Secretary and Student Liason as non-voting members. To accommodate the needs of our membership, which extends over the entire United States and overseas, regional coordinators are appointed to work at the local level. ACPA also has different committees which coordinate various functions of the Association.

ACPA bylaws were officially approved in 1990, and last revised in 1993. The Bylaws reaffirmed the goals of ACPA and established guidelines for an election process, the organizational structure and responsibilities of the elected officers. The Bylaws included nine Articles. They are:

  • Article I: Name
  • Article II: Objectives
  • Article III: Membership
  • Artivle IV: Dues
  • Article V: Officers
  • Article VI: Election of Officers
  • Article VII: Meetings
  • Article VIII: Committee
  • Article IX: Amendments
